Okay, after totally procrastinating for the past three hours...I thought I would top it off with adding a photo of the treeeeee.

(still working on getting that 7-foot-er...and apparently a vacuum...)
...We have wacky wall colors...

I just don't know what I would do without these little guys.

I have an uncanny ability to fatten up rodents...
Well, at least we have hot water again. As for the rest of things...
Oh well, at least that's fixed up.

There's some serenity in Peterborough.

This night has been a hellish one for the Canadian. I don't think anything productive will be getting done tonight, that's for sure, and who knows what will be happening as far as classes are concerned, tomorrow.

Well, despite the shit, though, I did manage to get a few things done with, one hit the post office making an ass of myself, 2x. A few other things in between. Unfortunately, despite how tired I am, sleep is one of those things I am unable to do

Oh well, fuck it all, anyway. Here's a pretty picture.
The North. Friend took this when she was climing the Sleeping Giant up in Thunder Bay. So gorgeous.
Good bye. Off to just watch (without Eng. subtitles...so, this should be interesting...) Ogniem I Mieczem

My poor computer. Me and battery connections...3% charcging. No wonder it hates me so.

Canada's first snow...

Ah, the essay is done....now on to two others....hmph. Well, since I don't have any of my Peter the Great, shit here, I am declaring this a holiday. Though, I did get one assignment done: Watch Man of All Seasons.
I also have to think of a proposal by November 20th-ish, about what I will do a short research essay on for Globalization in the 20th Cent.

Maybe I will talk to my crazy prof and do the whole "US conspiracy with the Oil companies to create instability in the middle east and Africa".

....Maybe....

Anyway, our first snoooooow....

This is in peterborough. The night I was going to leave.
Speaking of leavin', we're doing so tomorrow at 10am, so I think I am going to get some stuff done on this essay, then kick around, then a few winks...

Serenity now...

Cat...

Cogeco is a bastard.
Grrr to their internet-less running of things.
On the up-side, through a failure of making homemade cookies, we invented chocolate-mint/cinnamon, bread. It was...interesting. Unleavened, of course, since we were intending to make cookies, but still tasted like whole wheat bread, with the aforementioned flavors.

Anyway, had a visit from one of the kitties last night, which inevitably means that the camera was out, and caught some rather adorable pictures of him.

(a gaseous little fellow...thank God for febreeze and inscence)

Anyway, some photos...

Mmmm, pumpkin pie!
It didn't turn out too bad for my first try, but it was a little tough. But still sooo yummy.

The Essays begin...

Essay number one for my Theory class. Granted, it is yet another short essay, but I just love how this prof speaks to her students...

"Be as concise as possible, you must use the text to support your interpretations. There are no correct answers, but you are evaluated on the quality of your argument and the careful readings of the texts assigned. Avoid simplistic readings and eulogies that don’t tackle the complexity of the authors ideas. I assume that you will be editing a much larger paper down to a pithy 2000, words."

Heh, a pithy 2000 words?

I am ever moreso becoming a fan of our Global politics classes. They're run rather oddly. There are bouts of about 10 minutes of awkward silences. Our seminar leader doesn't really...lead the seminar. He is just kind of...there. He speaks up every now and again, but doesn't interrupt the lovely silences.

Besides all that, school is going quite boring. I went for a walk I really wish I had brought my camera for. I was supposed to be grabbing notes from one of my classmates who ended up bringing the wrong book to class, thus leaving an hour to kill between the two classes. And so we ended up going for a walk around campus, and there's this really funky bridge they just put up over a part of the Otonabee river, and you can get a pretty sweet view of the campus, and some of the town off to the distance. It's kinda nice. didn't even know it existed. And the trees are still turning color (oh yes, we still have leaves on them around here), so it was a pretty nice view.

Well, the pithy essay isn't due for a little while, so I am going to set that aside for a little while.

Oh, yes, and RIP Potbelly...
Anyway, tootles for now. I have got to go out to the post office and grocery store. And either one on a Saturday... God help me. I think I might wait until 7 for that. Usually the elderly are in bed by then.
Wohoo! Bakin' mini-pumpkin piesssss!

Halloween 2007

hope everyone had a good, and safe halloween!

I don't know, the picture of a thistle doesn't relate to anything, but it amused me....

How does a fish, disappear?
Potbelly was not in his bowl when I went to feed him, so I checked the shelf, no where to be found..the entire area around it.. notta. My fish has gone!
